It’s awards season and almost time to watch the internet stars parade down the virtual red-carpet for Mashable’s Open Web Awards.

Open Web Awards is the only multilingual international online voting competition that covers major innovations in web technology. Through an online nominating and voting process, the Open Web Awards recognizes and honors the top achievements in 26 categories.

It could be interesting to see how the results pan out. Along with the usual suspects there are some lesser known but strong contenders. If you’re undecided who to vote for in the “Social Shopping” category, why not vote for Veedow – if only because co-founder, Fabio De Bernardi makes me laugh when he pitches the site to girls with the (earnestly delivered) opening line “Do you like shopping?”.

Round 1 voting ends on December 30th and final Round voting runs from 3rd – 14th December with the results announced on the 16th.
